INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITIONS

Since 2008, Silk Road Treasure has supported major cultural and trade initiatives promoting Afghanistan internationally. In Hanover, Germany, the organization helped present Afghan Cultural Night alongside an international carpet exhibition, showcasing Afghanistan’s heritage to European audiences. In 2016, Silk Road Treasure supported the Kabul International Agriculture Exhibition in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and facilitated Afghanistan’s professional participation in Berlin’s Green Week platform through custom exhibition design, media production, and high-level coordination.

ROSE FARMS & ORGANIC AGRICULTURE INITIATIVES

Afghanistan’s long-term economic growth is rooted in its agricultural and livestock sectors, which employ nearly 80% of the population. Recognizing agriculture as the backbone of national prosperity, Silk Road Treasure—through its affiliated initiatives—has led structured development programs over the past two decades, including the Mohammadi Rose Project in Dara-e-Noor, regional rose cultivation expansion(2003- 2026), advanced nursery development, collaboration with Spinzar on pomegranate and citrus production, and the Green Wave reforestation initiative. A comprehensive, science-based modernization framework is ready for implementation to strengthen productivity, rural employment, and export-driven agribusiness growth.

KANDAHAR- AINO MINA URBAN DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

Silk Road Treasure views modern urban development as a foundation for long-term economic stability and national progress. Guided by globally recognized New Urbanism principles—promoting balanced growth, sustainability, and social cohesion—effective planning strengthens security, education, healthcare, and overall quality of life. Initiated in 2003, Aino Mina in Kandahar—a master-planned township designed for up to 250,000 residents—exemplifies this vision through integrated housing, infrastructure, and public facilities. As a structured “parallel city,” it reflects both the promise and complexity of transformative urban development in Afghanistan.

BALKH HYDROCARBON EXPLORATION PROJECT

The Balkh Tract Hydrocarbon Project covers approximately 6,250 sq. km of underexplored territory in Northern Afghanistan within a proven petroleum system. Initial research and surveys were conducted in 2006 following an official delegation meeting with the then President, with direct participation of U.S. specialists and an investment of approximately USD 1.5 million. Structured as an Exploration and Production Sharing Partnership with the Government of Afghanistan, the project brings together Quest Investment & Constructions as Implementation Partner, Silk Road Treasure (SRT) as Counseling Partner, and Aspect Energy as Technical Operator. Phase I includes seismic surveys and exploratory drilling with an estimated investment of USD 45+ million under a phased, risk- managed development framework.

CREATIVE WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROJECT

The Afghanistan Women’s Empowerment Project was implemented by Silk Road Treasure in collaboration with M.A. Counselling between 2014 and 2020 through private investment. The initiative successfully engaged approximately 200 young women and girls in two primary sectors: the production of traditional and innovative Afghan jewelry, and the weaving of Afghan kilims. All products were exported internationally and introduced to global markets. This cycle of production, export, and revenue generation enabled these women to maintain sustainable employment for four years and provide financial support to their families. The project was designed with the capacity to expand to other provinces of Afghanistan; however, due to changing circumstances and the COVID-19 pandemic, operations were paused. Plans remain in place to reactivate and further expand this initiative in the future.

AFGHAN- GERMAN RENEWABLE ENERGY INITIATIVE

In 2010, Orange Technology was established in Kabul with an initial investment of approximately USD 500,000 from IMO Company, Germany. As part of this strategic partnership, a major technical solar exhibition was launched in Kabul, introducing advanced German solar technologies to the Afghan market. The initiative showcased urban solar lighting systems, off-grid household solutions for rural communities, solar-powered irrigation pumps, water well systems, street and highway lighting, and drinking water purification systems. In addition, comprehensive programs were developed for electrifying schools, hospitals, military facilities, industrial centers, and factories. This pioneering initiative demonstrated a practical, scalable model for renewable energy deployment in Afghanistan, with fully developed project concepts ready for implementation in coordination with relevant national authorities.
